Patented hygienic coupling eliminates pins, clips, and clamps to improve cleanability and ease of use.
SUN PRAIRIE, Wisc. — Sani-Matic Inc. has received a United States patent for its Hygienic Process Coupling Assembly, a new connection design developed to improve cleanability, reliability, and usability in sanitary process systems.
The Hygienic Process Coupling Assembly features a twist-lock end cap and retainer design that removes the need for traditional pins, clips, threads, or external clamps. These common components can be difficult to install, time-consuming to maintain, and pose a potential contamination risk if lost or improperly secured.
The coupling assembly provides a liquid-tight seal while supporting cleanability on both the interior and exterior of the connection. This makes it well-suited for applications including food, beverage, consumer goods, and pharmaceutical processing.
The assembly is used on the High Purity Angle-Line Basket (HALB) Strainer and the Hygienic Components Angle-Line Basket Strainer (ALB) and allows for quick installation and removal.
The Hygienic Process Coupling Assembly patent was issued on December 16, 2025 under U.S. Patent No. 12,498,071 B1. The listed inventors are Wendell J. Holl, Peter T. Barrie, Tony W. Orlandoni, Michael J. Borkowski, and Eric M. Wild.
This innovation reinforces Sani-Matic’s long-standing commitment to advancing hygienic process design.
